Sprinkler Pipe System

Corrosion in fire extinguishing systems brings the risk that the sprinkler system may fail when it is needed most. Leaks at the joints increase installation and maintenance costs.
The aquatherm red pipe system (former: Firestop pipe system) developed by aquatherm prevents both and offers a high level of security due to its flame resistant properties.

The lower the SDR the higher the pressure rating

Material: PP-R FS (MF; faser composite technology)
not easily flammable acc. to DIN 4102-1, building material class B1
Pressure rating: PN 20 (SDR7.4 MF)
160mm x 7.1 (SDR11 MF)
Packing unit: straight lengths á 6 m
Colour: red/4 green stripes

aquatherm red pipe complies with AS4118.2.1-1995

Advantages:

  • certified and quality inspected (VdS, LPCB, FM, AS 4118.2.1, AON, VeriFire.
  • resistant against corrosion and chemicals
  • no accumulation of corrosion products, clogging the sprinklers
  • low pipe roughness factor and high abrasion resistance
  • heat and sound-insulating characteristics
  • high impact strength
  • leak-proof connection of pipe and fitting by socket fusion welding technique
  • not easily flammable acc. to DIN 4102-1, building material class B1
  • low weight compared to metal pipes
  • short processing time
  • no gaskets; sealing elements are not required
  • no adhesives are required
  • 3-layer pipe with fibre glass reinforced inner layer
  • concealed fire protection
  • reduction of structural works costs by embedding in concrete
  • weld-in-saddle technique
  • very low maintenance and long service life

aquatherm red pipe system can be embedded in concrete slabs, as done in Europe.

Aquatherm red pipe in future with red inner layer

The colour of the inner layer of the aquatherm red pipes is changed in the future from the current white to red. This change, caused by production technique, was made mid May 2013.

Since this is only a change of colour with no effect on the technical properties of the pipe, the colour change does not affect the approvals of the pipe.

During a transition period both colour versions are supplied.
